Alpenglow Ambassador Rich Meyer (www.richmeyeralpineguide.com) made a solo ski descent of Mt. Shasta over the weekend. For all you diehards out there that still need that sliding-on-snow-fix, it sounds as if the turns are still solid. We sure do love summer skiing!
From Rich: “Sunday July 8th: Solo ski session on the East side of Mt. Shasta this morning. Climbing at 3:30am, summit at 9:30am, skiing at 10am, back to the van at 11:15am. Some good corn snow between 14,000 and 11,000 ft…. 11,000 to 8,500ft was not so hot but manageable…. Need to walk on dirt from approx 7,000 to 8,500. Perfect weather and a nice hike that included some fun skiing.”
