As reported from our Facebook page Eastside corn season has begun in the Eastern Sierra of California. Here’s a report from a recent trip down to Convict Lake and Tioga Pass:
East Side Corn Report, 4/4-4/5: yesterday headed up The Pinner (Laurel Mtn.), and found mushy thigh-deep slop up high but 1000′ feet of goodness on the lower third. Today achieved velveteen rabbit perfection from 9000′ to 11,000′ in Cocaine Chute (Tioga Pass), but the top 100′ was icy sastrugi. Spectacular!! Lots of recent wet slides and debris on SE aspects.
